A few months ago, British Sea Power issued the following message to fans: “The video for our new single ‘Who’s In Control?’ is set to be a raucous juxtaposition of sex and protest, party and revolt. We’re seeking any protest video imagery from fans – your ORIGINAL footage for the new video. If anyone has anything they’d like to share, please be in touch.’

This is the result, directed by Bajir Cannon and Bridget Palardy:

The Man of Aran Cometh 02/04/09 in British Sea Power

British Sea Power have been hard at work scoring a soundtrack for the renowned 1934 film ‘The Man of Aran’, which portrays the hardships of life before advanced infrastructure such as Domino’s Pizza and Micro Chips saved us from having to hunt huge basking sharks, toil in potato fields and live in black and white everyday….

Excitingly, this DVD will be released with the soundtrack itself on CD in the same double package… so hurrah, that’s effectively a new album for us. But even better news still is that we can also see the Power playing along to the film live at London’s BFI Southbank on Thursday the 23rd of April. The same set will also be the opening spectacular for this years Big Chill festival, see you in the grass.
