A few months ago, British Sea Power issued the following message to fans: “The video for our new single ‘Who’s In Control?’ is set to be a raucous juxtaposition of sex and protest, party and revolt. We’re seeking any protest video imagery from fans – your ORIGINAL footage for the new video. If anyone has anything they’d like to share, please be in touch.’

This is the result, directed by Bajir Cannon and Bridget Palardy:

British Sea Power announce tour 12/03/10 in British Sea Power

British Sea Power are currently mixing their new album, with several on-site sources predicting a theme of Thor getting it together with Lady Saw. But if that doesn’t keep you going until release time, how about some shows live on tour? These include a return to Tan Hill, the highest pub in the whole damn land. Hooray!

The dates are as follows. Please note that the itinerary includes both traditional performances of amplified rock music and also performances of the band’s Man Of Aran soundtrack, live to a screening of the Robert Flaherty’s Man Of Aran film.

25 COLCHESTER ARTS CENTRE
26 MANCHESTER MOHO
27 LONDON ST ANNES CHURCH (LIMEHOUSE) – Man Of Aran and acoustic set
29 SHEFFIELD SENSORIA FILM FESTIVAL – at The SHOWROOM CINEMA – Man of Aran
30 TAN HILL
MAY

03 LEEDS HOLY TRINITY CHURCH
17 BATH KOMEDIA
18 BIRMINGHAM GLEE CLUB
19 LIVERPOOL MASQUE THEATRE

The Tan Hill weekend is a mini-festival, to feature a pretty bazzing multi-band bill and other attractions. Ticket details for all shows will follow soon.

*PLEASE NOTE that the London St Annes is NOT fully confirmed right now. More to follow info ASAP.

In the meantime, anyone wanting a reminder of to-the-mooooon British Sea Power live antics, please have a look at the later stages of this footage from Perth, Australia:
