My Morning Jacket, that voice! That other worldly vapour! Spiritual, ethereal and always hovering somewhere right above the band… and what a band! Able to tickle so many of our most vital pleasure zones, Gram Parsons Americana, Brian Wilson’s psyche pop and lately, even Prince’s electro funk is in their ambitious mash. Lately they’ve proved unstoppable, with a recent 5th album marking a high point for a band that’s boldly and impressively evolving with every release. They’ll also blow you away live, with a number of reviews currently proclaiming them the greatest live act on the planet. If there’s any divided opinion on this band, it’s just between those that love them and those that are wrong.
